Does the URL count in my character limit for a X (formerly known as Twitter) post?

When you are creating a social post for Twitter, you will see that there is a character limit of 280 characters.

If you are sharing a URL link in a Twitter post the URL link is included in the character count. Twitter will automatically reduce the size of the URL using its own link shortener, so there is no need to edit or shorten a URL yourself.

Note: If you remove any characters from a URL it will break the link.
